Show B Satin Angora Judging at San Jose




Judge Stephany examines the white Satin Angoras.

The Satin Angora BOB goes to Casey's white senior doe.  The winner advances to Reserve In Show at the end of the show.

Show B French Angora Judging at San Jose






Judge Stephany is examining a French Angora colored senior buck.


This French Angora black buck is judge's choice for BOB at the end of French Angora judging.



A very nice colored junior buck but too young to compete with the seniors.



The colored senior doe is the French Angora BOSB.

Show B English Angora Judging at San Jose



Show B judge for Angoras is Stephany Brundage.



On judge Stephany's table is the English Angora colored senior buck class. 



Judge Stephany likes this colored junior buck.



The colored senior doe carries a big coat.




This is the winner of the colored senior doe class, but judge Stephany likes the colore junior buck better and made him the BOB English Angora.  The colored senior doe is the BOSB.

Show A Satin Angora Judging at San Jose




There are 3 white and 7 colored Satin Angoras at the show.

Show A French Angora Judging at San Jose




There are one white and 5 colored French Angoras at the San Jose show.



Judge Misty and Cory each brings French Angora out for evaluation.



Judge Misty teaches the fine points of judging French Angora to Cory.



This is the second place colored senior buck, in the judge opinion the buck has good density but a bit too soft for the French texture.



This is the winner of the colored senior buck class.   




On the table is the French Angora colored senior doe.

Though the colored senior doe has great density and very pretty, the BOB goes to the colored senior buck that wins on the correct texture.

Show A English Angora Judging at San Jose


Now we return to the San Jose show reports.  In show A, judge Misty Polasik has Cory San Joseas her "assist".   An "assist" is someone who has passed all the requirements to become a rabbit judge except the practical handling of rabbits in shows.  The "assist" has to work with 8 judges in 8 differnt show dates to complete the practical training of working in shows.    Casey is helping as the table clerk.



This is Cory's 4th show working as an assist.      


In the coops are the colored senior buck class, quite of few of them are in the "summer hairdo" of shorter coats than normal.

Judge Misty has the English Angora BOB and BOSB on the table for the final evaluation.  The BOB goes to the colored senior doe and the BOSB goes to the colored junior buck.  The colored senior doe advances to the Best In Show at the end of the day.  




One of the young lady likes those bucks with summer hairdo and has a photo taken with a non-winner.

Carol Demos at Alameda Fair




While the San Jose shows are going on, the Alameda Fair is also in full bloom.  



Dolores Morris did the show secretary paper work for the San Jose shows but her main job in June is to be in charge of the small animal exhibits at the Alameda fair.



The small animal building is nice and clean and air conditioned.  



The open show is carrying cage show so those rabbit on display are mostly the ones available for adoption.



None of the Angoras are available to be adopted, instead there is a huge poster introducing the Angora breeds.



Carol judged at the San Jose show so she could not participate in the Alameda fair open show when it was going on, she agrees to get some wool breeds to the fair as demo.



Carol also brough a few American Fuzzy Lops to the fair for demo.  



The Fuzzy loves to have his head rubbed and the kids love to touch him.




There are lots of information on the wall and on the table about the animals in the building.

New Panel at the ARBA Exhibit Room




There is a new panel installed at the ARBA Exhibit Room at Knox, PA.




This panel is designed and made by ARBA Hall of Fame member Kevin Whaley.   Thank you Kevin for including the English Angora and French Angora in the panel.   You may recognize a few familiar faces too: Randy Shumaker and Maddie Pratt in the middle accepting their Best In Show prize, Chris Zemny judging, Eric Stewart with his blue French Angora and Betty Chu and her English Angora in the Quilted Northern commercial.    Click the photo if you wish to see the full size version.
